Jerez. A beautifully preserved colonial city founded in 1536, Jerez makes for an interesting side trip. Its horseshoe-shaped Hinojosa Theater, which was built seven years after the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, is a replica of Washington, D.C.'s Ford's Theater.
